Denver Area Fall Festivals and Fairs – Fall is officially here and so are all the things that make it a great time of year.  Cozy sweaters, colorful trees, leaves crunching under your feet, hot apple cider, pumpkin pie and a briskness in the air.  Denver offers many wonderful and unique Festivals to help you enjoy the Fall Season.

 

Great American Beer Festival – October 2-4, 5:30 pm – 10 pm

The Great American Beer Festival is the premier U.S. beer festival and competition.  This is a huge event for beer lovers and aficionados covering over 188,000 sq. ft. at the Colorado Convention Center.  Participants get to enjoy  1 oz. beer samples from both local and national breweries.  Many of the brewer’s staff the booths at the festival providing participants opportunities to ask questions and get the latest information on brewing techniques.  Enjoy samplings of diverse beers created from all over the United States.

Pumpkin Harvest Festival – October 4-5, 10 am – 4 pm

Head over to Four Mile Historic Park to pick out your very own pumpkin from the patch, build a scarecrow, dance to live music, play pioneer games, make a craft, and try your luck at county fair amusements. Love dessert? Try your hand at the pie-eating and cakewalk contests.   Enjoy tours of the Museum and learn what it was like for our pioneer ancestors to live in the 1800’s.  Enjoy horse drawn carriage rides and refreshments such as kettle corn, apple cider, and caramel apples.

 

Fall Horseshoe Market – October 4th, 9am – 4pm

Located in the parking lot behind Olinger at 46th and Tennyson, find that perfect up-cycled or handcrafted piece of furniture or clothing item for your home or get a head start on your holiday shopping.  The Horseshoe Market features handcrafted clothing, body products or vintage treasures from over 120 local vendors.  Visit a number of local food trucks when you are ready for a break from shopping.  For more information click here.

Festival of Scarecrows – October 11th, 10am – 2pm

Head over to Olde Town Square at 57th St. in Arvada for a variety of fun family-friendly activities.   You can purchase pumpkins, participate in a kids costume parade, pie eating or pumpkin seed spitting contests, or enjoy hay rides and wander through a corn maze.  For more information please click here.

Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield comes alive with PUMPKINS!  Thousands of pumpkins will be ripe for the picking in Chatfield’s 10-acre patch, so bring your wagon and pick away.  Enjoy live music, face painting, pumpkin carving demonstrations, pony rides and carnival games.  This festival is sure to have something for everyone.  Come enjoy the beautiful scenery at Chatfield and get a taste of fall.

Flatirons Food Film Festival – October 15-19th, 

“Feast on reel food”, this annual multi-day feast celebrates culinary cinema from various nations.  The Festival takes place in Boulder,CO and is part of the International Film Series at the University Colorado at Boulder.  All films screen on the CU-Boulder campus.  The festival includes film showings, discussions and food and beverage events.  If you enjoy food, are passionate about local natural foods, and want to learn from some of Colorado’s great chefs and food experts, then this is the event for you.  For information on festival schedule and ticketing, click here.

 

Choctoberfest Colorado – October 17th from 4pm – 10pm and October 18th from 10am – 9pm

The Denver Marriott Tech Center will be transformed into a 15,000 sq. ft. Chocolate Heaven.  Chocolate Lovers can experience pure decadence as they wind through booths featuring chocolate of every kind.  Sample everything from dark and pure to rich and milky.  Experience chocolate infused with tea and alcohol or baked into brownies or wrapped into rich truffles.  Learn tricks of the trade with cooking demonstrations or just enjoy smelling the richness around you while listening to entertainment.  This event is sure to please your sweet tooth.  For more information click here.

 
Denver Arts Week: November 7-15,  Nigh at the Museums – November 8

Denver’s Arts Week celebrates the Mile High City’s vibrant arts and culture scene.  The week kicks off with the well know First Friday Art Walk, where art galleries in neighborhood art districts throughout Denver open their doors and host exhibits complete with wine and hors d’oeuvres.  This is a great opportunity to meet artists, curators and see new noteworthy collections.

Saturday, November 8th is Night at the Museums, where a number of Denver Museums offer free admission, provide complimentary shuttle service to and from the museums, and have extended hours til 10 pm.  What an amazing opportunity to get access to a number of premier museums.

Starz Denver Film Festival – November 12-23

Denver International Wine Festival – November 20-22,  Omni Interlocken Resort

The 10th Annual Denver International Wine Festival is the premier wine and food festival in the Rocky Mountains.  Come sample over 400 wines, beers and spirits, explore food and wine pairing demonstrations and educational seminars.  For information on the schedule and ticket pricing, please click here.
